Motel Radio's "The Garden" out Sep. 2 on Single Lock!

MOTEL RADIO GROWS FRESH PERSPECTIVE THROUGH LIFE'S ADVERSITIES ON NEW ALBUM THE GARDEN (SEPTEMBER 2 / SINGLE LOCK RECORDS)

NEW ORLEANS INDIE BREAKOUTS UNVEIL EUPHORIC NEW ADVANCE TRACK "HEAT WAVE"

"It's been a crazy couple months," croons Motel Radio's Winston Triolo in the opening of their blissful and breezy new single "Heat Wave." It's a plainly-stated notion that most everyone has related to in our current moment and an experience that's central to the New Orleans four-piece's new album The Garden, out September 2 on Single Lock Records. On the hazy, sun-kissed ten-song collection, hard times are not run from or ignored, but embraced for the beauty at their roots. It's the feeling of realizing distance only makes you appreciate a person more, or learning to be vulnerable through battling your own demons, or giving love to someone who can't quite show it back yet. It's that shift in perspective and that fight to find optimism, even through the darkest moments, that Motel Radio is growing on The Garden.

Beyond the mantras at the center of The Garden are Motel Radio's real-life experiences putting them into practice. With half the band leaving for the West Coast just before the pandemic, the one-time New Orleans live staples were faced with the reality of how to keep carrying on. Ultimately, it was that same unwavering spirit of positivity that not only kept the band alive but rebuilt them stronger than ever. Taking a step back from the touring grind to prioritize developing as songwriters and producers - and even more importantly to focus on their lives and relationships - Motel Radio were more equipped than ever to capitalize when they did have precious time in the same room. Finally reuniting at an old Louisiana fishing camp to self-record for the first time, the hard-fought road to The Garden gives an entirely new layer of depth to a sound that's already garnered major festival slots and tours alongside indie's biggest names. Returning to New Orleans last week for an early celebration via a string of Jazz Fest shows, the band also previously shared "Wise" from The Garden which earned Best Song Of The Week designations from SweetyHigh and Ones To Watch.
